Your ‘day to day’:
As Automation Engineer you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Manager Technical Serivice. The position will be based in Bologna. A key responsibility will be to be the owner of the operations, control & instrumentation strategy & masterplan, Site Level focus on simplification, automation, digitalization projects, VSU leader for strategic projects, capability owner , SPOC for Eng for “smart operations” & productivity initiatives. You will be responsible for digital master planning activities implementation.
Your Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance to all PMI and legal standards, policies and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, Sustainability to prevent personnel, asset or societal loss. Act and promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture fostering the utilization of preventive/predictive approach in line with Open+/IOS. Collaborate with the Information Security Operations team in performing assessments in the shop floor. Liaise timely with the Information Security Operations team in case of any security gap/risk exposure identified during business as usual support activities Develop the digital control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations and ensure that documentation is in place and used in the line(s) whenever out of limit situations occur. Identify alternative digital solutions in order to improve the process control requirements, cooperating with OEM and main stakeholder. Update the technical documentation with the latest modifications or improvements. Accountable to ensure data integrity & availability between machine and first IT component. Coordinate activities related to electric, electronics, equipment process control installation and modification of production equipment. Support all necessary qualification activities following changes or upgrades. Reponsible for digital reapplication processes across all the production lines. Responsible for monitoring the most frequent causes of losses at site level (breakdowns, wastes, out of specs product) and implement corrective actions/solutions in order to contribute to overall productivity and quality improvement in adherence with IOS/OPEN+. Analyze and execute benchmarking analysis to maximize the benefits/cost ratio for new digital solutions Communicate in timely manner on loss elimination priorities, plans and responsibilities to ensure cross-functional alignment. Share knowledge and methods to encourage and foster benchmarking, reapplication and continuous improvement. Support training department by coaching electronic personnel on the job, in order to develop the adequate technical expertise for the manufacturing of PMI products.

Join us in the Legal Team and you’ll work managing various legal aspects of the business of Philip Morris Italia Srl and Philip Morris Manufacturing and Technology Bologna SPA (“Affiliates”) in a wide range of matters.
You’ll work in close relationship with business colleagues, as well interact with the Law Department of PMI (OC or Operation Center) and the management of the Affiliates, with the final aim to reach business objectives in a manner consistent with relevant laws, regulations and PMI Principles & Practices.
Your ‘day to day’
As Counsel, you will report directly to the Senior Counsel Italy and be part of a department composed of 6 lawyers. You will work with Affiliates and OC’s colleagues of the Law & Compliance departments as well as business colleagues to provide quality, business-centric and timely legal advice in a wide variety of business activities and initiatives.
You will also support the Senior Counsel to implement departmental practices and objectives in the market. You will have to exercise seasoned judgment and provide guidance to business and functional leaders across the organization, always vision, integrity, commitment and maturity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partner with global subject matter experts, Senior Counsel and the other Counsels of the Team, as well as business colleagues to create proactive strategies designed to avoid or minimize exposure to legal liability.
- Help business colleagues understand the risks and consequences of the given situation, by effectively communicating the consequences and developing alternatives to manage identified risks.
- Efficiently gather and distill relevant information from appropriate sources, identify and analyze legal issues and know when to escalate them.
- Draft key documents, present clear recommendations and ensure legal compliance in a wide range of matters, including competition law, GDPR, Compliance (including 231), commercial and regulatory legal matters.

As Electronic Technical Specialist you will be part of our Manufacturing Department and you will be reporting to the Supervisor Process Support. Be the technical reference for the development and innovation of improvement initiatives aiming at improving the efficiency, the reliability and the maintenance of the equipment. Your Responsibilities:
- Support Asset Engineer to manage the performance of appropriate assets, in terms of plant’s smooth operation and reliability, to achieve the required output to support factory operational requirements, namely ensuring data monitoring and analysis; ensuring maintenance activities incl. spare parts are properly planned and documented within the appropriate systems.
- Support training department by coaching technical personnel on the job, in order to develop the adequate technical expertise for the manufacturing of PMI products. Develop/review in collaboration with technical department the training material for the internal technical trainings (PT/MT/ET)
- Support Asset Engineer during monitoring and analysis of consumption of spare parts, costs, overhead costs in order to be in line with budget proposals. Provide suggestion on identify gaps and constraints in the organization and implement appropriate countermeasures accordingly to minimize losses.
- Support and coach the technical personnel during machinery start-up, complex format changes, first industrial productions of new product/process, in compliance with established quality and safety standards. Provide support by defining format change settings and methodologies in order to reduce machine downtime and waste, and to increase quality and efficiency level.
- Support Asset Engineer, by collecting suggestions, by monitoring and analyzing local usage & risk profile of spare parts, for the improvement of the maintenance strategy. Proactively support the analysis of the root causes of quality, process and reliability-related problems.

THE OPPORTUNITY
As Engineer, you will be part of Engineering Solutions in our Consumables Industrialization department based in Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Manager Field Support. The position will be based in Bologna with the possibility of frequent business trips.
A key responsibility is to develop, along industrialization projects, the knowledge about product, process, machinery and organization, with the purpose to build the set of records that will allow the knowledge sharing with stakeholders.
In your role, you will be responsible to drive analysis of project performances and process losses in terms of safety, quality, cost, productivity, waste and work organization, with the purpose to support project leader in delivering project commitments. You’ll contribute to the Industrialization of new and existing manufacturing processes in collaboration with OEMs and other PMI entities.
- YOUR ’DAY TO DAY’:
- Support the development of concepts for product, process and manufacturing applications enhancements, technical alternatives, designs, standards, test and evaluation plans under low level supervision through reviewing technical trends and best practices to support the product portfolio and for meeting the PMI technical needs and business objectives including the safety, quality, and productivity goals of defined project.
- Apply proven scientific / engineering principles and practices with supervision and collaborate with relevant internal and external colleagues to analyze/enhance controls systems, manufacturing applications, processes and products to perform more complex system & product improvements while respecting PMI standards/compliance.
- Track project progress/status per vs activities plan and recommend revisions to the timetable and resource requirements to ensure all assigned projects are maintained on schedule and within the budget requirements, and provide timely updates to the project accountable. • Produce and review documentation with supervision, for accuracy and completeness that describes a new product or manufacturing process, including all pertinent information for legal or compliance purposes, to ensure a complete compilation of the project records in preparation for the project closure.
- Contribute to a continued collaboration across PMI production facilities, affiliates, vendors, external resources and other appropriate disciplines to generate innovative technical solutions and ideas while simultaneously building & maintaining a state-of-the-art level of technical knowledge and expertise for addressing existing/future affiliate issues and concerns; and the efficiency of new projects/initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead the activities and work tasks of operators, technicians, mechanics, less experienced professionals and contractors in situations where a higher level of project/process expertise is required to ensure the production quality, facility performance and business objectives are achieved.
- Contribute to the evolution of the role towards a Project Based Organization and Industrialization of new platforms.
- Contribute to the integration of the assessment methodology within the Open+ pillars

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:

As Manufacturing Quality Technician you will be part of our Quality department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A.. and will be reporting to the Team Leader Manufacturing QA. The position will be based in Bologna. In your role, you will ensure timely support to manufacturing team during production and ensure all relevant standard are respected along manufacturing process. You will also coordinate samples testing and schedule between production and Lab to support the product delivery on time, and ensure that intermediate and finished product non-conformities are managed and related corrective & preventive actions held.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support production teams by providing Quality guidance and support in case of issues. Share/transfer knowledge and expertise. Train the floor on Quality practices/procedures and ensure the operational staff remains up to date with our Quality requirements. For RRP products : Coordinate the availability and testing of samples according to the sampling plan and the control strategy.
- Provide support to the production team and ensure that the documentation is managed according to the QMS. For RRP products : Ensure the availability of Batch Control before the production in a timely manner. Perform the Quality review of batch records and batch controls by reviewing the accuracy and integrity of data.
- Investigate in a timely manner non-conformities and deviation. Investigate and resolve critical deviations, contribute to define disposal actions and when appropriate corrective actions. Based on recommendation from concerned stakeholders, participate to the decision of releasing/destroying the non-conform products blocked due to quality issues and monitor the related costs.
- Propose and follow-up quality improvement ideas in production or other processes in Operations. Analyze the information and participate in small projects with influence on product quality.
- Manage the retention, the storage and destruction of finished product samples. Keep the retention file up to date. – Communicate all useful information for the good flow of Quality processes to concerned colleagues and to support teams in order to meet productivity and quality.
- Participate to the creation/review of procedures, work instructions and others Quality Documents that are required. Provide support and training according to the training management system.
- Promote and apply all rules concerning PMI Quality, environment, health and safety. Your ‘day to day’:
As PROCESS LEAD you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Supervisor Process Support. The position will be based in Bologna.
A key responsibility will be to execute and lead the processes for eliminating losses by effective problem solving and process control to support in delivering business result of the assigned RRP line and fully applying the Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS) and PMI standards and policies.
In your role, you will act as the line owner of (a) Center Line, (b) Rapid Change Over, (c) Change Management Daily Management System (DMS)s and also the line owner of the integrity of the Line Event Data System (LEDS). Acts as the process expert in problem solving and on floor troubleshooting.
Finally, you will lead the change management processes including benchmarking and reapplication activities across appropriate production lines, business units and factory.
Your Responsibilities:
- Create and establish CL targets & limits for the RRP line(s). Is responsible to review, validate and update new CL standard of the line(s) in order to meet the business results. Develops the control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations, furthermore ensures that documentation is in place and used in the line(s) whenever out of limit situations occur.
- Driving performance through loss elimination and continuous improvement: Leading problem-solving activities using standard problem solving tools such as IPS, 6W2H & UPS to solve the chronic problems on the line(s) in a timely manner. Drives centerline daily management system and loss elimination processes by applying standard tools according to Integrated Manufacturing System (IMS) standards. As the Owner of Line Event Data Systems, he/she ensures the integrity of the data from his/her lines. Create and establish changeover standards for all appropriate SKUs in the line(s). Reviews changeover critiques and coaches the team to identify and implement improvement opportunities to achieve RCO success criteria’s and standards. Leads and participates actively in the Rapid Changeover events to identify additional opportunities for change over process optimization.

- Ensure full compliance with local legislation, company policies and practices and the IMS. Adhere to all Quality, Environment, and Health, Safety, and Security (QEHS&S) rules, policies and practices by applying and ensuring workplace and other employee in compliance with norms by local regulation. As the incident elimination DMS owner, he/she has to review safety incident investigations to ensure the corrective actions are in place. Execute weekly DMSs health checks to identify gaps and constraints in the organization and implement appropriate countermeasures accordingly.
Who we’re looking for:
- University degree in Engineering, Sciences or equivalent.
- 2/3 years of professional experience in Manufacturing and previous experience or exposure to people coordination / management activities.
- Strong project management experience. Formal education in PMPM is a plus.
- Knowledge in MS Office Package.

Your ‘day to day’ As Shift Leader you will be part of our Manufacturing Department (Tobacco Processing) for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Manager Business Unit.
The position will be based in Bologna. In your role, you will lead production activities and processes within the shift and the assigned team, inside the Value Stream in a consistent, streamlined and strategically aligned way, so that planned volumes are produced according to budgets and are totally compliant with safety and quality requirements.
In this position, you will also act as a role model on the shopfloor and sustain all the VS processes, supporting the VS and the BU organization in order to deliver all expected results and objectives, with the purpose to foster company business success.
Finally, you will assure the needed supervision on the shopfloor, to grant that Safety and Quality standards are continuously applied.
- Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensure the delivery of shifts’ forecasted volumes on safety, quality and costs accordingly with shared and agreed daily scheduling to cope with the volumes indicated in the weekly & monthly production plan. Ensure the respect of safety, quality, process and housekeeping standards and best practices, through direct supervision and periodical auditing according to the Audit plans. Actively contribute to the organization of all activities in the Value Stream in order to meet volume & quality objectives, in a cost effective manner, with high focus on waste reduction. Identify, share and implement best practices amongst all shifts and areas. Ensure that the planned & needed maintenances are done in due time and with the adequate level of quality, strive for their improvement and for asset availability increase as per Maintenance KPIs goals.
- Ensure that people under his/her responsibility have the capability, knowledge and skills to execute manufacturing and logistics operations on safety, quality, and time through effective development plan and experiences (off-the job/on-job training activities, on the job experiences, projects, job rotation), in order to grant the delivery of the production volumes when and how they are needed and to achieve the business and people development objectives. Act as role model for his/her team, being present on the shopfloor and supporting issue resolution. Organize, supervise and coach work of the subordinates, define their training and development needs based on PMI and Factory career stages framework. - Ensure the respect of quality standards through the Team discipline to the Standards, through the systems and the control on execution. Act directly as role model for Quality std respect. - Cooperate with entire VS/BU/Manufacturing organization or with other department teams in order to facilitate the introduction of new initiatives, projects and products in accordance with project plan, budgets and requirements, within his/her team/area. Assure that his/her Team is adequately trained and acknowledged about programs or innovations introduced in his/her team.
- Cooperate with VS supervisors and with BU Managers in order to support Production Planning Departments and all Schedulers by providing input on production/maintenance scheduling in order to minimize adverse impact of brand changes, tests and trials, etc. towards improving resources utilization and productivity, Ensure that data is effectively converted into information and effectively analyzed, used autonomously by operative personnel for actions planning and execution, accordingly with their areas of responsibility. For this purpose, cooperate to define and drive consequential action across shifts to minimize downtimes and production losses, in a comprehensive, continuous and sustainable way. Support the VS supervisors and with BU Managers to formulate Operations Assumptions and input to Budget in an accurate and timely manner in order to ensure that correct and reliable information is submitted to interested parties.

Workplace Experience Specialist – Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna

Your ‘day to day’:
As Workplace Experience Specialist you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Supervisor Workplace Experience. The position will be based in Bologna. In your role you will Ensure an excellent level of efficiency and effectiveness of the Workplace (WX) services and contribute to manage and monitor the reference suppliers. You will also Identify and solve any critical issues with good degree of autonomy and provide continuous process improvements and contribute to met Workplace Experience project objectives and manage Workplace Experience projects coordinating activities between internal and external stakeholders involved.
A key responsibility will be to contribute with the Workplace Experience team in the implementation, organization and execution of the services and tools offered in order to be and effective and efficient business partner with high quality standards and in compliance with budget assigned, timing and Company principles and practices. You will also monitor contractors’ performance through KPIs, based on SLA’s and ensure work safety and compliance to EHS rules and regulations.
Finally, you will investigate ways to reduce costs, while maintaining the customer satisfaction at the same or higher levels. Be actively involved in OB & Capex, while acting within the agreed budget.
Your Responsibilities:
- Guarantee a high and constant level of effectiveness and efficiency of Workplace Experience Services, implementing and feeding an appropriate KPI system. Monitor the level of achievements of the KPI in place with the Third Party Suppliers. Support the Supervisor and the Business Partners in the interpretation of the agreement and in compliance with the SLA. Act promptly in problem solving and promptly activate back-up solutions if needed.
- Inspect offices and common areas on a daily basis and promptly identify any extraordinary activity to be requested. Ensure accurate and timely execution. Verify that the work done is in line with expectations and follow-up issues not solved. Plan and ensure the execution of ordinary/extraordinary activities for all services in scope with Workplace Experience (e.g.: canteen; locker rooms; gym; company cars; parking management; gardening; office layout; etc.). Coordinate the housekeeping activities based on priorities established and in line the expected results. Coordinate the services offered to employees, guaranteeing excellent quality of services and adequate communications to the departments. Plan and coordinate services offered to employees, verify services execution, collect feedback and identify follow-up actions in case of unfulfilled expectations.
- Support the Supervisor in developing the team and identify the results achieved. Promptly communicate process improvements, changes in activities or scheduling as well as priority. Contribute to coordinate all Workplace Experience activities in collaboration with the peers and Security and Safety team to ensure alignment in information, actions and back-ups.
- Maintain constant communication with the internal clients. Work in close collaboration with all departments in order to follow up the performance of Workplace Exp suppliers and the satisfaction of department owners. Takes care of providing timely information and feedback to clients. Satisfy the request submitted by PMI and deliver results expected in line with PMI expectations. Being the point of reference for Workplace Experience services with Workplace Experience Affiliates Community members.
- Contribute to prepare OB and RF for expenditure and to monitor budget respect of Workplace Experience activities and projects. Come up with initiatives regarding funds savings. Timely provide accurate analysis and reporting to support the decision making of Management. Support purchasing Dept. in the periodic evaluation of suppliers and most advantageous offers/contracts.
- Manage procurement process including vendor creation/selection, supplier offer checks, purchase orders, GR, invoices and payments for the Workplace Experience experience service in the respect of PMI accounting treatment and finance guidelines. Build a good vendors relationships, ensuring deadlines and accuracy always met. Contribute to monitor Vendors KPIs. Guarantee high level of accuracy in monthly/YE accruals process and correct cost allocation (GL account, CC, WBS and amounts) in compliance with PMI procedure, requirements and deadlines.
- Contribute to manage company assets (e.g. furniture, equipment, etc.) with the aim to maximize the use of office spaces, storages and warehouse. Manage Assets accounting to identify correct value, asset class and capitalization. Print out assets label to be attached to physical assets. Perform assets stock count and disposal in the respect of Finance standards and guidelines. Print out assets label to be attached to physical assets.
- Participate and contribute to manage Workplace Experience projects following PBO approach and ensuring that are carried over timely, with expected quality and in line with planned budget.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor or Master degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Workplace Experience roles or in comparable functions (Procurement, P&C, etc.)
- Consumer orientation personality, Problem solving and Team working attitude, Time management propension
- Advanced MS Office user
- Fluent in English both written and spoken. Italian is an asset
